Colombo (News 1st); Parliamentarian Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said his name was proposed for the post of Speaker of the 09th Parliament at Wednesday’s (19) ruling party MPs meeting. Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Abeywardena said he will gladly accept the position of Speaker of Parliament.
