COLOMBO (News 1st); A collective effort by locals, police, and wildlife officers led to a wild elephant being rescued in Galkiriyagama. A lone pachyderm was found inside an abandoned agrarian pit on Wednesday (27). After several hours of digging, officials managed to create a pathway for the wild elephant to climb out of the pit.
